Just wondering what the users of the site think of the new way to download?

Doesn't matter if it works for you or not. Just if you prefer this thanks system over the old way?

I like it very much indeed. I don't like that so many people still don't seem to understand it somehow and are thanking anyone (if not EVERYONE) who has simply replied on the thread.

Im likeing to to a point as now im getting thanked for my hard work rather than just having it leeched off me with out a single word .......but on the other hand i dont know why some people are having problems with it unless some of there settings are wrong somewhere but dont get discrundeled we are here to try and help as much as we can

In all honesty marky I think people are just stupid, I really do... because it can't be that difficult and when you consider, despite VERY clear instructions all over the place how many people are thanking EVERYONE and are in topics with no hidden content boxes asking where the hidden content is now they've thanked EVERYONE or some shit. And it's definitely nice to know people aren't just (as) passively leeching your content though - 100%.

Well i'm not stupid but it doesnt work with my brand of firefox3 for some reason even with java etc set correctly.
People are going to leach with the thanks button or not, it makes no difference in my opinion. A few people typing thanks is far more valuable than a 100 people forced to press the thanks button because then i'd know what I posted was decent. If nobody said thanks i'd probably rethink what i posted.
If say the thanks button auto wrote "thanks" in the thread and you had it as an option it would be more valuable because its done as appreciation of something decent.

However, this is my opinion and something to mull on, not an attack.
Apart from that the sites fine, new look is fine (although i miss the brit post sticky which was almost legendary) and well done to the new owners for taking over. Good luck with it.

As for the thanks idea i think it would be a nice idea if it worked. I have tried mulitple ways now and still no luck. so if the people in charge can fix it then yeah great if not get rid of it and think of summit else.

As far as I can tell there is nothing wrong with the hidden content and thanks button.

Still working on debugging whatever the problem is though.

It just isn't there.

Nothing can be downloaded. Which, given that I've leached for a while is perhaps fair enough.

That said - something is wrong with it.

When you thank someone and then press f5 and everything is turned on (who has javascript turned off?????), and the image is still therethen there is clearly, cleary a bug in the system...

actually, this seems to be a firefox issue.

If you use IE, after a while it seems to right itself.
