| Micro SD Card Problem Hi guys. So I went out and bought a card reader fr my pc to check out some of my old Compact Flash memory cards. I bought one with an SD reader so that i could read my micro sd cards on it too. So all went well for the Compact Flash cards - managed to access them easily... however... when I put the Micro SD into its adaptor and stick it in the SD slot then it freezes my "My Computer" window and doesn't let me access the card at all.
I had this same problem with another card reader I borrowed from someone so it's obviously an issue wth the card itself - but this doesn't explain the fact that I have two cards and neither of them will work when I use them with a reader. They do work on my phone and there are no problems there at all - i just want to be able to use the cards with my card reader!
Any help on this one would be much appreciated guys. |

| Re: Micro SD Card Problem I genuinely have no idea. I know that's not useful but I just wanted to acknowledge someone had actually read this and not ignored it. I'm sure someone will have an idea. |

| Re: Micro SD Card Problem It's a tricky one indeed. I've done a bit of searching around on 'tinternet and it doesn't seem to be a common problem. There's a mention of it being something to do with SDHC compatibility but that doesn't apply to me as the cards in question im using are 1gig and 2gig only. It's infuriating! |

| Re: Micro SD Card Problem Can you reformat the card on your phone? If so try this. And maybe wipe the card gently , and blow the card reader?? Thats all I can suggest.

| Re: Micro SD Card Problem Hey LD, at the moment cannot think of solution to the card reader. However you can get usb devices in which the MicroSD card plugs into and then straight into your pc bypassing the MicroSD Adapter, or you could just simply get another SD card (couldn't guarantee that would work though) |

Same bloody problem, just freezes up the comp when i try to open the drive that it is in. Bloody annoying. |

| Re: Micro SD Card Problem Adding my 2 cents worth I would add that some cards are locked to the device so that when you loose it others cant simply plug the card into something else, steal and share all your porn.
I know Nokia do this and have come a cropper when using a card reader via the comp. With Nokia you have to change the setting for the card once its in the phone and then chuck it in the other device. |

I was using it in an LG Viewty and when I changed back to my N95 that's when all the problems started. I will try putting it back in the LG and I will mess about with the settings to see if this helps. If this solves the problem then consider yourself a fucking legend! |
