If your using VCL and want to brighten the videos, just go into the settings menu, and then the extended GUI, click on the enable button and you can now adjust the playback settings, including brightness.

Ares, since u have put a wee bit of commentary in there about VLC media player, have you experience this problem or know how to resolve it?

Any video, any file type i play on it, it wont let me skip forward. If I do, it just closes it down. Any suggestions?

MikeV, do you know for sure she is underage? If you know for sure, contact phalanx or spodposter with the details as I'm sure they won't keep it on the server if shes underage.

MikeV, given your comments I thought it prudent to remove the last clip
in this thread. I would like to remind all members that this site strongly opposes
any form of underage material.

Having said that, I can sympathize that sometime it is very hard for the posters
to tell but in this case I decided to err on the side of caution.

No worries spodposter, u did the right thing. i'm pretty sure it's underage cause it's origin is from my country, Greece, and this clip along with many others involving school pupils kept the tv news busy for a while.

I'm afraid I can't be of much help here. The fact that it won't play any file type, suggests that the program is either corrupt or hasn't been installed correctly. The only thing I can suggests is to uninstall the program, and then reinstall the latest version found here - http://www.videolan.org/vlc/.

Also make sure your using the latest FFDShow codec pack found here - http://www.free-codecs.com/download/FFDShow.htm

hey ,

by skip forward , do you mean to the next clip , or further on in a cip that is playing ??
with VLC this is not possible to "search" through certain vid file types . but by creating a playlist for VLC , you can add as many clips as you want and skip to the next one, without the app closing .

just keep VLC up to date and you will be fine .

** ps , an excellent music player , that will play everything is "Foobar 2000" .
