A great cultural classic based on the short novel by Henry Miller
It's best seen as a precursor to Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas set in France, but more sexually vulgar and less drug-hazed. Some plot lines will be recognizable. The soundtrack is delightfully tacky.
Since its about prostitutes, the director had the bright idea to use real ones. Plenty of real sex. It's also a great piece of artfilm.
